Space, Wonderful Universe!

I’m up before dawn again, for work, and to write.  The night is clear, and really cold, in the single digits.  The waning crescent moon looks small overhead, offering little light.

It’s a bit shocking to me that Christmas is over.  I’ve really enjoyed having these last two days with Joy.  We’ve been able to relax, together, and we’ve shared conversations with the time and space to be full and open with each other.

It is our relationship at its best.

It’s not that we are at odds or bickering the rest of the time.  It’s just that, through the grind and duty of week after week of our work lives, we get worn down and tired.  Stress and pressure builds, little by little.

I’ve noted here before that as I get physically, mentally, and emotionally worn down, I am diminished.  My heart is less open to give and receive, my spirit is less full, and I am less able to shine and share my light.

Then, multiply that by two.  As the struggles and challenges seem to build for each of us, and our capacities seem to diminish, we each feel more alone and a little more desperate, like we are hanging on for dear life.

For dear life.  Because, that’s what life is – dear.  It’s a precious, lovely thing.  And, it feels so fragile when our spirits are diminished.

What is so beautiful in our relationship – in any relationship – is when we find the time and space to rest and recover; when we combine and restore our energies together; when we share our thoughts and fears, our hopes and dreams.  When we share and shine our inner light, illuminating each other.  We buoy each other up; we reach out and find the other right there.  We remember, deep down, how strong life, love, and the love between us, truly are.

A Prompt for Today:

Dear One, I’ve been tempted a number of times to describe heading back to work today as “back to reality.”

It’s a trap that we often fall into.  We have this programming that tells us that our work should often feel like a grind and bring suffering; and, that is more real than when we are doing things that make us feel well and whole.

Remember, Dear One – it’s all thought and illusion – none of it is more real than the rest of it.

It has been my reality, this year, to write and meditate more than ever, to become more mindful, awake, and whole.  That reality happened because I conjured it; I brought it into being, through intention and practice.  Knowing to do, and doing.

What do you choose to be, to create, in this year ahead?

Let’s have a Brilliant Conversation and set the Universe in motion!

The best of myself and my relationships, I choose to expand.  And, I ask for your help and guidance, My Dear Spirits!
