Rebirth, Grand Universe!

It’s a time to celebrate rebirth, Dear One.  The longest night of the year has passed, last night was the first night of Hanukkah, and today is Christmas morning!

There are thick clouds over most of the sky, again with the tinge of darker blue of winter.  But, in the eastern sky, there are ragged gaps where bright blue sky shines beyond broken clouds.  No direct sunlight touches the valley yet; but, the eastern sky looks heavenly.

We all have the capacity for compassion within us.  We see a loved one, or even a stranger, suffering, and our heart goes out to her or him; we share her/his pain.

Often, though, we are taught that this is a dangerous thing; that it makes us vulnerable.

This is our humanity.  We are meant to care for each other.  When we hurt because of another’s suffering, it is the reminder that we are connected, and that we can help and support each other.  It is also notice given – that when we are suffering, we will not be alone.

It is not meant to be easy, this connection of empathy we have with others.  It is meant to be noticed.  We are given the choice – to turn away and harden ourselves against others’ suffering; or, to lean into our humanity, into our practice of compassion, to support another through her/his suffering.

We reap what we sow.  If we turn away and harden ourselves, we grow more disconnected.  We hold ourselves separate from the great Flow of Love and Abundance of the Universe.  We make our world seem small, hard, sad, and lonely.

When we practice our compassion, it is like we’ve planted seeds of love in our garden.  At first, it is a struggle, which takes all the seeds’ energies, to force their way through the soil and to emerge, sprouting in the sunlight.  But, that struggle is a necessary part of the process.

Not only are you strong enough to survive the struggle – that struggle is what strengthens you, and delivers you to bloom in the sunlight, in all your glory!

For you, Dear One; Today’s Prompt:

Today, take time to give thanks for the breath that you are given; the spark that beats your heart; your eyes that see the wonders around you; and your ears that hear the music of your world.

All these things channel through your heart, giving your world its own unique flavor and color.

But also, the music and wonders, that spark, and the air you breathe – you share all that with all the world.  Accept your humanity, your connection and loving relationship with Every Thing and Every One, today and Every Day.

To know our strength and capacity to Love and Care.  Wow!  I appreciate this gift, My Dear Guides!
