Connecting, Dear Universe –

It is chilly, in the 20’s, this morning, and the sky is clear as the sun rises.  There’s a bird, whose call sounds familiar, but one that I’m not able to identify, singing away to herald in the new day.

As I sit quietly this morning, my thoughts center around the idea of connection.

We crave and need connection.  But, it’s not just one thing – there are so many different things with which we need to connect at different times.

Opening up and connecting with our thoughts, feelings, and desires – looking at who we are and who we want to be.

Connecting with stillness and peace – letting go of the thoughts that control us, steer us, and drive us; in order to connect with the Divine Peace within us, to hear the soft voice of our heart, and sense our integrity.

Connecting with Nature – to appreciate the beauty and wonder all around us, the magic of this world in which we live; to witness the Divine all around us.

Connecting with others – practicing loving-kindness, forgiveness, respect, understanding, and compassion.  Knowing in our marrow that we need and deserve these things, and so, delightfully and whole-heartedly, giving them to get them.

I think we need regular, generous doses of each of these forms of connection to achieve and maintain a mental, emotional, and spiritual balance in our life.

Please consider this Prompt:

Dear One, on a blank sheet of paper, draw a large circle, and then divide it like a pie into four pieces.  Label each quarter – Thoughts, Feelings, Desires; Stillness & Peace; Nature; and Community.  With the center as 0 and the outer edge of the circle as 10, rate how connected you feel in each of these areas.

When you look at your circle filled in, do you see balance?  Does this visual help you denote any imbalance you’ve been feeling?

For each area, identify three ideas that would help you increase your sense of connection.

Connecting to the Flow is the source of our energy, love, inspiration, and forward movement.  With Love, Always, My Dear Guides!
