Experiencing, Full Universe!

Pausing, on this damp, cold, gray morning, I hear the random rhythm of raindrops on the sill, and the steady hum of distant traffic.

Time – everything has a component of time.  At least in this consciousness of mine.  This writing, this morning, has a beginning and end; has a duration of time.

The Integrity Cleanse is a practice for me right now.  It’s about learning, and integrating concepts.

There is no “race against the clock,” no expected amount of time that this learning should or shouldn’t take.

It’s a funny thing, how we get about time.  Maybe it’s a society thing.  This alone is a good reason for me to travel, I think – to find others who treat and regard time differently.

I look at the different characteristics I aspire to acquire as I grow older – patience, peace, integrity, wisdom, compassion, humility, sensibility, maturity.

These aren’t classes offered for just a semester, which have a beginning and end.  I’m focusing on Integrity.  As I go through the course, I am not getting graded along the way.  It’s not as if there will be a final at the end, for which I will either pass or fail.

The day after I finish the course, and the weeks, months, and years later, I will continue my learning, my work to integrate Integrity into my life.

These characteristics move at a different pace, changing at the speed of our life.  They are puzzle pieces that fit together, so that my work today on Integrity informs my peace and patience, my wisdom and maturity, and all the other aspects of my character.

Our butterfly metamorphosis doesn’t occur in days, but over years and decades.

So, why think it should be happening any quicker?  Ah, patience.

Please consider this Prompt:

Here’s an exercise I hope you’ll find fun and challenging, as well as informative.

Create a spreadsheet with four columns and twenty rows.  In the first column, list 20 characteristics you admire and appreciate.  In the third column, write the mirror-opposite characteristic.  For example, if you write “generous” or “selfless” in the first column, you might write “selfish” in the third column.

Then, in the column to the right of each characteristic, check off if you’ve demonstrated that characteristic at all over the last week.

It can be helpful to see where and how we are living in both columns.  Use this as constructive information.

Deciding what matters to us and who we want to be, and then learning how to do that – is what our lifetime is for!  Dear Guides, thanks for being a supportive Team!
