Beginnings and Shifts of Perspectives, Grand Universe!

The morning’s sky is painted with layers of clouds.  But, right at dawn, the horizon glowed, for a moment, with a deep red.  Then, there was a glimpse of the sun through the clouds, lasting just a brief few minutes.

So, after another session with my mentor, I’m looking at a strategy of a new beginning and a shift of perspective.  My mentor, Sas, pointed out the unrelenting presence fear has in all I say and do.

Hmm.  Well, sure.  I certainly don’t disagree.  But, her question to me was, “Can you take off your ‘fear glasses’?  What can your world look like if you remove that filter of fear?”

In truth, fear has been my familiar adversary.  And, I’ve grown very accustomed, comfortable even, to pushing against my fears, to the point of really relying on them to prop me up.  I have this image of toppling over if Fear were to suddenly disappear.

Right now, though, my goal is to investigate and explore removing those glasses.  It’s not about denial, because that doesn’t feel authentic, and I believe would not work for me.

It’s about shifting my attention, so as to not have every thing be seen and experienced in the terms and definitions of Fear.  It’s about a change in perspective.

So…I don’t plan to talk about Fear here in the foreseeable future, as I run this little experiment.

With this in mind, I have found myself appreciating the insistent little chime in our cars that notifies us when we haven’t latched our seatbelts.  I now wear my seatbelt all the time when driving, which has been my intention.  But, gosh – that annoying chime sure helps me accomplish my goal.

So, I’ll see if I can devise a “chime” for when I’ve unwittingly slipped my “fear glasses” back on.  Aye!

I offer you this Prompt:

Where our thoughts go, Dear One, so go our moments, our days, and our life.

Whatever we focus and fixate on becomes the pivot point around which everything is put in relation.

Consider sitting and grounding yourself.  Then, take a minute to list the emotions you have recently been experiencing.

Looking at your list, do you feel burdened or unburdened?  Do you feel shackled and imprisoned, or free?

For another minute, write a list of emotions that would bring you lightness and freedom.

For the next week, can you meditate for a few minutes each day on that second list?  Begin by noticing how those emotions already show up in your life?   How else can they be present with you in the Now?  Is there some filter that you need to drop; that you would be better served by letting it go?

A Revolution of Change – really just one small step!  We can choose a different pivot point!  Blessings, Dear Guides, and Thank You, Sas!
