ReceivingI’m sure you know how satisfying and fulfilling it feels to help someone out.  It elevates us when we give assistance, generosity, or love to someone in need.

What’s often not so comfortable for us, though, is to be on the receiving end.  Being in need can feel so damn vulnerable.  And, accepting help signifies to others (and ourselves!) that there are things out of our control.

But, really, that’s always a part of life.  Our shared human condition–that there’s a lot that we can’t control, and that sometimes we can use a hand–is what pulls us together, makes us closer and stronger.

Another way to look at it: That great feeling you get when you help someone out…that’s what you give every time you open yourself to receive someone else’s help!
